2. Change your toothbrush regularly.

Worn toothbrushes are much less effective at cleaning plaque from your teeth. You should regularly change both manual and electric brush heads and act on it if your brush has an indicators telling you when it is time to change

3. Floss between your teeth

Properly cleaning your teeth means getting right between them. Using dental floss or inter-dental brushes can help you do this effectively.

4. Visit your dentist

Visit your dentist at regular intervals- 6-12 months (depending on personal clinical needs) is normally recommended. This will allow your dentist to give you the best possible care and if there are problems treat them at the earliest possible time.

5. Visit your hygienist

Professionally cleaned teeth removes plaque, reduces food and drink stains, treats advanced gum diseases, and can stop bad breath. It is an essential part of your routine dental care.

6. Clean the surface of your tongue.

Cleaning your tongue removes the bacteria that live on the rougher top surface of your tongue. These can contribute to bad breath (halitosis).

7. Treat missing teeth.

Missing teeth can increase the susceptibility of the remaining teeth to decay and gum disease. In addition, missing teeth allow for the movement of neighbouring teeth into the spaces which can lead to functional problems in years to come.Missing teeth can be treated with great aesthetic and functional success through the use of implants and bridges. Ask your dentist about the best option for you.
